Our ancestors Coretta Scott King and Huey Newton (among others) have emphasized the seminal role of our youth in affecting social change and influencing our people to act, particularly around issues of equality and justice. Far from the cliche' of the 'absent Black father,' our communities have always had men who have been guides, teachers, disciplinarians, nurturers, and examples for our young people.
